FIRKA | M&M’s – Media & Me

The youth exchange „M&M’s – Media & Me” took place in Létavértes, Hungary, between 26th August, 2017 and 3rd September, 2017. The project was organized by FIRKA Youth Association, and it was supported by the European Union ERASMUS+ programme.
Our goal during the exchange was to raise the activity level of young people, urge them to create and share their opinion through daily activities and various topics. During the project we have developed the competences of the participants to analyze and understand digital media content better both intellectually and emotionally. Creativity, media knowledge, tolerance and cultural understanding of participating young people have developed
during the exchange. These new skills not only helps them during their everyday life, but also helps to improve their social connections, social skills, and by adapting their new knowledge, the can be conscious “media consumers”.

The venue of the exchange was the Szent Kristóf Youth Hostel in Létavértes, where young people from five countries have participated:

Italy
Bulgaria
Poland
Hungary

During the 9-days programme

they actively participated in workshops, talking and discussing the main topic by using non-formal methods;
preparing creative products, creating posters, shooting advertisements;
analyzing news sites;
they also had cultural and outdoor programmes;
they have visited Debrecen;
organized intercultural evenings;
participated in Game Night.

Overall we consider this a very positive experience in which we had the opportunity to enrich our cultural background about family and Europe. Improve our english and interpersonal skills and having fun meeting new people at the same time.

Italian group

Speaking about workshops, in various activities we used our imagination and creativity. Moreover, we developed our problem solving skills while debating about family issues and discussing important matters regarding family and new technology. We will miss the evenings that we spent together with all the people from Spain, Italy, Hungary and Romania. These 10 days were unforgettable and we are very happy that we got this opportunity to participate.

Lithuanian group

First of all we loved the exchange the stuff and all the programs. We liked the programs, the days’s structure, the organizator group, the places we visited, the hostel, and the food. The working process was entertaining in a way. We really the organizers, the facilitators work and the opportunity though!

Romanian group

This project has overcome our expectations and has encourage us to have more Erasmus+ experiences. Every activity was quite fun and we had a great coexistence with the other countries. Finally, the most important thing about one project like this, it is not the topic itself but the opportunity to acquire a profound and better knowledge of ourselves and enhance our compromise with the European mentality, prove that in spite of our differences are more our similarities.

Spanish group

The workshops were interesting and enjoyable. The morning energizers were creative and funny. We are totally satisfied with the accomodation and the quality of the food too. During cultural evenings we had an opportunity to taste different dishes from other countries and to learn more about their traditions and countries.
